Commercial Attorney (Chapter 11 Experience)

The Position
Our client, a consumer goods company, is undergoing a complex corporate restructuring and is seeking an experience Commercial Attorney with strong in-house experience who has previously worked through a Chapter 11 restructuring. This person should be fluent in commercial contracts and able to step in to support operational triage during this post filing phase. Ideally, this candidate will draw on past experience to help guide the team through decision making. While industry knowledge is a plus, the priority is someone with firsthand experience navigating the restructuring process. General knowledge of M&A is also a bonus. This candidate will also need experience working with a CRM. 

The right candidate will be even-keeled, adaptable, and ready to roll up their sleeves to support the team wherever needed. The client is looking for someone who can bring calm to the storm energy and thrive in a fast moving and uncertain environment.

The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $110 and $112. This range is an estimate; an employee’s compensation will be based on the employee’s qualifications, skillset, and relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.

Employment Attorney (Gig Work Experience)

The Position
A major retail chain is looking for an employment attorney that specializes in the 'gig' economy. The successful candidate will be able to advise on classification, remedies in the event of misclassification, contracts, wage and hour, and benefits, as they pertain to 'gig' work. This position will start ASAP, be 30-40 hours/week, has the ability to be fully remote but onsite in Arkansas is ideal, and will be ongoing until the client hires a full-time employee. 

The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $100 and $112. This range is an estimate; an employee’s compensation will be based on the employee’s qualifications, skillset, and relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.

Patent Agent or Attorney

The Position
Our client is a battery manufacturing company seeking an experienced Patent Agent or Attorney to support a range of patent prosecution, strategy, and portfolio management responsibilities. This person will assist with inventor interviews, summarize disclosures, help manage the docket, and monitor outside counsel. They’ll also be involved in reviewing and drafting office actions, conducting FTO analyses, and ensuring filings align with your internal guidelines and overall IP strategy.

The ideal candidate will be a junior-level patent professional, preferably with experience in a law firm or in-house setting. A USPTO registration number is strongly preferred so the person can independently communicate with the USPTO, conduct interviews, and file applications. Strong attention to detail, organization, and intellectual curiosity are essential, especially given the technical areas this team works in. A background in material science, chemistry (towards material science), electrical engineering, and batteries are a nice to have. 

ASAP start. The role is 40 hours/week, though the schedule is flexible, and part-time candidates are welcome to apply. The position is fully remote, with a hybrid option available for candidates based in the Bay Area. Duration is 6-12 months, with potential to convert for the right candidate.

The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $70 and $75. Litigation Attorney

The Position
Our client is a company that provides a popular and innovative communications platform geared towards gamers. They are in need of a skilled general litigation attorney to support their team with overflow work. This attorney will be responsible for the following tasks:

– Manage a caseload of disputes, encompassing pre-litigation demands, lawsuits, and arbitration, all without the assistance of outside counsel.
– Oversee responses to discovery requests from both domestic and international third parties.
– Offer support throughout the litigation process, spanning early case evaluation, e-discovery, fact-finding, legal research, witness preparation, motion practice, hearings, arbitration, trials, and settlements.
– Handle inquiries received through various aliases, redirecting or escalating them based on the potential litigation risk levels.
– Conduct legal research and produce memos on pertinent developments in the legal landscape within areas relevant to the client.
– Provide administrative assistance, including billing and invoicing for outside counsel, as well as liaising with insurance providers.

This candidate must be an excellent drafter, and should be able to work independently. This person must have excellent interpersonal relationship skills and should be able to work with a high volume of open matters at any given time. This client is not looking for someone who will overlawyer. The ideal candidate also has experience working at online communications or social media companies. 

Our client is looking to have someone in the seat ASAP and the duration of this project is estimated to be two months with potential to extend. This project is estimated to be 40 hours/week. Candidates will be fully remote. Ideal candidates should be flexible about meeting times (most frequent touch points will be in EST and PST).

The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $101 and $110. This range is an estimate; an employee’s compensation will be based on the employee’s qualifications, skillset, and relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.

The Position
Our client, a well known platform company, is seeking a Product Attorney focused on payments to support an upcoming leave. This is a hybrid product and commercial counsel role, with approximately 70% focused on product and the remaining 30% covering commercial contracts and light regulatory work. The ideal candidate brings experience in payments (especially from a regulated financial services or e-commerce setting), though attorneys with strong product counseling backgrounds who are ready to learn the payments space are also encouraged to apply. This attorney should be able to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-risk tolerance environments and have the skill to distill complex legal and technical concepts into clear language to non-attorneys.

The client is seeking to have someone start in late August with the project anticipated to last for 6 months. 40 hours/week, fully remote, with a preference for East Coast based candidates. 

The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $105 and $111.
