Procurement Attorney

The Position
A leading global food company is seeking an experienced procurement attorney to support direct procurement contracting for its North American snacking division. This role will focus on drafting and negotiating agreements for goods that go directly into consumer products, such as various ingredients, flavors, and food dyes. The ideal candidate will have experience working with top suppliers of commodity goods and a strong background in supplier negotiations.

In addition to core procurement work, the attorney will be expected to bring a process-oriented mindset and contribute to streamlining internal workflows related to contracting. Experience in the CPG industry is preferred but not required. The right candidate will demonstrate sound business judgment, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work independently. They should be comfortable building trust with internal stakeholders and managing high-level negotiations with major suppliers.

This project starts in late August or early September, runs through the end of the year, is fully remote, and requires availability during Eastern Time business hours. Hours can range from 10 to 40 per week. The client is focused on finding the right fit and is flexible to accommodate the attorney’s availability.

The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $110 and $115. The Position
Our client is a well-regarded nonprofit focused on climate impact. They are seeking a senior legal advisor to serve as their Interim General Counsel. Focus areas and responsibilities include: 

  • Building out legal infrastructure, leading risk management, compliance and policy and ethics initiatives
  • Developing and delivering legal training to non-legal staff and leadership
  • Providing contract oversight 
  • Managing compliance with 501(c)(3) nonprofit regulations and IRS rules

This Interim General Counsel will be instrumental in building out legal infrastructure from the ground up. It’s an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys providing thoughtful, strategic, and tactful legal guidance to a growing, mission-driven team. Prior experience with an international nonprofit is a plus. 

ASAP start for an estimated 6-12 months with potential to convert depending on overall fit and business needs. 30-40 hours per week. This position is remote but candidates based in the DC area or San Francisco Bay Area is a plus. 

The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $130 and $140. Our client is a technology company seeking an attorney to support their navigation product team on inbound transactions and licensing agreements during an upcoming family leave coverage. This person should have prior and recent experience handling a wide variety of commercial (inbound) data, IP, or software licensing agreements. Relevant experience will include working on content licensing deals for maps, supplier deals, etc. IP experience will be very compelling to this client. Prior product counseling experience will also be compelling. Excellent drafting skills are required. This person should have a strong attention to detail and be a curious person.

The client is looking to have someone in the seat at the beginning of September and candidates may be fully remote. The duration of this project is 6 months. The hourly commitment is 40 hours/week. 

The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $95 and $105. The Position
The largest plumbing distributor in North America and top 3 in distribution in the areas of HVACR, Industrial PVF and industrial supplies, is looking to fill a 20 hr/wk contracts manager/legal admin position. They are looking for someone with Ironclad experience to take the burden of transferring/transcribing commercial agreements off of their attorneys, as it has become quite the time drain on a couple of attorneys in particular. The client uses Ironclad for all of their supplier facing agreements. The ideal candidate would be able to help with work flow by quickly and accurately transcribing information from commercial agreements, uploading documents, creating reports and making reassignments within Ironclad when necessary.

The client would like to have someone who is ET based (open to PT working ET hours but must be willing to support ET hours) that can begin working ASAP. The anticipated duration of this remote job is 3 months with the possibility to extend. There is flexibility as to whether the 20 weekly hours are worked over 3 days, 4 days or 5 days based on candidates availability.

The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $40 and $42. The ideal attorney will have prior experience working in a large CPG environment. Responsibilities will include:

  • Negotiating, reviewing, drafting inbound tech and SaaS agreements
  • Revamping supplier agreements
  • Managing privacy/AI compliance tied to website updates
  •  Providing general legal support for employment/litigation matters as needed

This attorney will partner closely with their IT team but also work cross functionally across their small legal team and non-legal teams. The ideal candidate is relationship driven and will be a team player across the organization. Prior experience at a cosmetics/beauty company is a plus. 

ASAP start for an initial estimated 3-4 month duration, 30-40 hours per week, Fully remote.

While industry knowledge is a plus, the priority is someone with firsthand experience navigating the restructuring process. General knowledge of M&A is also a bonus. This candidate will also need experience working with a CRM.

Litigation Attorney

The Position
Our client is a company that provides a popular and innovative communications platform geared towards gamers. They are in need of a skilled general litigation attorney to support their team with overflow work. This attorney will be responsible for the following tasks:

– Manage a caseload of disputes, encompassing pre-litigation demands, lawsuits, and arbitration, all without the assistance of outside counsel.
– Oversee responses to discovery requests from both domestic and international third parties.
– Offer support throughout the litigation process, spanning early case evaluation, e-discovery, fact-finding, legal research, witness preparation, motion practice, hearings, arbitration, trials, and settlements.
– Handle inquiries received through various aliases, redirecting or escalating them based on the potential litigation risk levels.
– Conduct legal research and produce memos on pertinent developments in the legal landscape within areas relevant to the client.
– Provide administrative assistance, including billing and invoicing for outside counsel, as well as liaising with insurance providers.

This candidate must be an excellent drafter, and should be able to work independently. This person must have excellent interpersonal relationship skills and should be able to work with a high volume of open matters at any given time. This client is not looking for someone who will overlawyer. The ideal candidate also has experience working at online communications or social media companies. 

Our client is looking to have someone in the seat ASAP and the duration of this project is estimated to be two months with potential to extend. This project is estimated to be 40 hours/week. Candidates will be fully remote. Ideal candidates should be flexible about meeting times (most frequent touch points will be in EST and PST).

The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $101 and $110. This range is an estimate; an employee’s compensation will be based on the employee’s qualifications, skillset, and relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.
