Trust & Safety Attorney
The Position
A global marketplace technology company is seeking an experienced Trust & Safety Counsel to support a high-touch legal team focused on platform safety, fraud prevention, law enforcement response, and crisis-related matters. This role sits at the intersection of legal, operations, communications, public policy, and customer support, advising on sensitive issues that impact both user safety and company risk.
The position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional environment where legal plays a critical role in helping the business respond quickly and thoughtfully to urgent matters. You’ll partner closely with Fraud & Safety, Customer Support, Global Crisis Management, Communications, Public Policy, Privacy, and other internal teams to assess legal risk, provide practical guidance, and help ensure external communications do not create additional exposure for the company.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with criminal law, prosecution, investigations, fraud, law enforcement operations, platform safety, crisis response, or related high-stakes matters. This person should be highly responsive, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and able to provide clear, actionable guidance in time-sensitive situations. Strong judgment, high EQ, excellent writing skills, and the ability to remain composed under pressure are essential.
This role also requires someone who can quickly draft memos, systematize processes, and help create repeatable workflows or escalation paths for future incidents.
The client is looking to have someone in the seat ASAP for 40+ hours/week. The expected duration for this role will be 3-6 months and candidates can be fully remote.
The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $110 and $120. This range is an estimate; an employee’s compensation will be based on the employee’s qualifications, skillset, and relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.
