FAQ

Thinking about applying for lawyer jobs at Paragon? Here are answers to some of the questions we hear most from attorneys and other legal professionals exploring flexible work with us.

Our process runs through six steps:

  1. You apply to an opportunity or get in touch.
  2. Our sourcing team sets up a short phone interview to learn about your recent practice, availability, and qualifications.
  3. Once you’re in our network, we share project matches that fit your background.
  4. You meet your recruiter for a video interview about the project.
  5. Your recruiter helps you prep for the client interview with tips and our Interview Prep Guide.
  6. If the client selects you, we start onboarding, including paperwork and background checks, right away.

Most engagements run several months, though the timeline depends on the client and project. Hours usually fall between 10 and 40 per week. Some attorneys stick to one project at a time, while others move from one engagement to the next, and some support multiple clients at once across various part-time projects.

Yes. While on a project, Paragon attorneys are W-2 employees and may be eligible for some or all of our comprehensive benefits, depending on your hours and engagement type. These include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a healthcare flexible spending account (FSA), long-term disability, life, and AD&D coverage, paid vacation and sick time, a 401(k) with up to a $1,000 annual match for eligible employees, an employee assistance program (EAP), and professional liability insurance for your Paragon engagement.

Yes. About 90% of Paragon projects are remote, and many roles offer remote or hybrid options. A few clients need occasional on-site work, so check the listing details for each opportunity to see what’s required.

While on a project, you’re a W-2 employee of Paragon, not a 1099 contractor, and you’re paid for every hour you work. Rates are project-specific and depend on a variety of factors, and you’ll find pay details listed on each job posting.
