Patent Agent or Attorney
The Position
Our client is a battery manufacturing company seeking an experienced Patent Agent or Attorney to support support a range of patent prosecution, strategy, and portfolio management responsibilities. This person will assist with inventor interviews, summarize disclosures, help manage the docket, and monitor outside counsel. They’ll also be involved in reviewing and drafting office actions, conducting FTO analyses, and ensuring filings align with your internal guidelines and overall IP strategy.
The ideal candidate will be a junior-level patent professional, preferably with experience in a law firm or in-house setting. A USPTO registration number is strongly preferred so the person can independently communicate with the USPTO, conduct interviews, and file applications. Strong attention to detail, organization, and intellectual curiosity are essential, especially given the technical areas this team works in. A background in material science, chemistry (towards material science), electrical engineering, and batteries are a nice to have.
ASAP start. The role is 40 hours/week, though the schedule is flexible, and part-time candidates are welcome to apply. The position is fully remote, with a hybrid option available for candidates based in the Bay Area. Duration is 6-12 months, with potential to convert for the right candidate.
The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $70 and $75. This range is an estimate; an employee’s compensation will be based on the employee’s qualifications, skillset, and relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.
