Compliance Attorney (Hybrid CA)
The Position
Our client is an international company well-known for beautiful furniture and design services. They are looking for a compliance attorney to support the compliance function. In this role, the candidate will advise on:
1. Product Safety:
2. Vendor/supply chain compliance: there’s a lot of work here because there are so many laws around this including but not limited to US Lacey Act, modern slavery acts, UK Timber regulations, Indonesian Teak regulations, California SB 657 and UFPLA.
3. Other compliance issues that may come down the pike, including import/export and trade compliance.
This attorney needs to be able to read a regulation and provide PRACTICAL advice.
The ideal candidate has prior in-house experience and can balance business requirements with legal advice. This candidate must be flexible and comfortable working in an environment that may have multiple changes.
This attorney must be able to go onsite to the client’s office in Corte Madera at least two times a week. ASAP start, ongoing until the client hires an FTE (potential to convert if this is a good fit and as an FTE can go onsite 5x/week), 25-40 hours/week.
The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $100 and $125. This range is an estimate; an employee’s compensation will be based on the employee’s qualifications, skillset, and relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.
