Commercial Attorney (Strategic Legal Operations Experience)
The Position
Our client, a leading consumer technology company, is seeking a senior commercial attorney to support its legal affairs team during a leave coverage engagement. This attorney will take ownership of a high volume of commercial transactions while helping drive legal operations initiatives across a complex, fast-moving business.
The role will focus on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor agreements, SaaS agreements, data processing agreements, and online terms and conditions. The attorney will manage deals from intake through execution, partner closely with business, compliance, and privacy stakeholders, and provide practical, business-focused legal guidance on risk and strategic initiatives. Additional responsibilities include supporting legal operations efforts related to outside counsel management, contract lifecycle management, vendor onboarding, and enterprise systems integration.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of in-house commercial contracting experience, though candidates with 7+ years will be considered. Experience supporting technology, digital products, hardware platforms, AI-related initiatives, and regulatory compliance matters is highly preferred. Success in this role will require strong judgment, the ability to operate independently, and a pragmatic approach to balancing legal risk with business objectives.
This project starts July 13, 2026, is expected to run through March 1, 2027, is hybrid in Irvine, California. It requires 10–20 hours per week from July 13 through August 7, followed by 40 hours per week thereafter.
The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $100 and $110. This range is an estimate; an employee’s compensation will be based on the employee’s qualifications, skillset, and relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.
