Product Attorney (Product Feature Launch Experience)
The Position
Our client is a social networking and online dating company, best known for its mobile app that primarily serves the LGBTQ+ community. They are seeking an experienced Product Counsel to support its legal team during a key coverage period. This is a product-first role partnering closely with product and engineering teams on consumer-facing features. Responsibilities include:
- Advising on the development and launch of new product features and initiatives
- Reviewing product designs, user flows, and functionality to identify and mitigate legal risk
- Supporting core platform work, including terms of service, content moderation, and user-generated content
- Contributing to regulatory and compliance matters as needed
You’ll work alongside a highly thoughtful and fast-paced product team, providing practical, business-oriented legal guidance that supports innovation while managing risk. This is an ideal opportunity for a product-focused attorney who enjoys working at the intersection of product, technology, and law.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience advising on consumer-facing products in tech environments, along with high emotional intelligence and a low-ego, collaborative approach. This person should be comfortable working in a start-up environment, and operating autonomously while staying closely aligned with leadership.
Targeting a mid-to-late May start date, 40 hours per week, for an estimated 6 month duration. Candidates must be local to West Hollywood or San Francisco and able to work onsite Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $104 and $114. This range is an estimate; an employee’s compensation will be based on the employee’s qualifications, skillset, and relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.
