Commercial IP Attorney (AVOD, TVOD and SVOD Experience)
The Position
A large global technology and retail company is seeking a commercial attorney to support its smart TV and streaming platform legal team during a parental leave coverage. The attorney will handle negotiations and legal strategy related to third-party applications and digital video content licensing.
This role will involve drafting and negotiating agreements with content providers, media and entertainment companies, and streaming platforms across AVOD, SVOD, and TVOD models. The attorney will also advise internal business stakeholders on licensing strategy, rights management, and distribution issues while managing deals from intake through negotiation and execution.
Ideal candidates will have direct experience negotiating digital content licensing agreements and third-party application deals, along with a strong understanding of commercial IP licensing and digital distribution models. Experience with device licensing, international rights, or premium studio and sports content is a plus.
This project starts April 27, 2026, is through approximately November 2026, is remote, and requires 20 hours per week for the first two weeks, then 30–40 hours per week thereafter. The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $85 and $105. This range is an estimate; an employee’s compensation will be based on the employee’s qualifications, skillset, and relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.
