Lucas Barcelos

As a Senior Billing and Collections Analyst, Lucas manages the full invoice lifecycle at Paragon, from e-billing submission and status tracking through rejection resolution and final acceptance across client portals. He reviews and validates attorney timesheets for accuracy and compliance before invoices go out, runs the collections workflow with proactive follow-up ahead of and after due dates, and reconciles incoming payments against open receivables to keep accounts receivable current. He also handles accounts payable processing and builds financial and operational reporting for Paragon's Director of Operations to support strategic decision-making. Paragon's finance team ensures clients receive accurate, guideline-compliant invoices so that attorneys can stay focused on the legal work they were engaged to do.

Prior to joining Paragon, Lucas spent seven years at Demarest Advogados, one of Brazil's largest full-service law firms, where he created and led the firm's first dedicated e-billing team, establishing its workflows, responsibilities, and quality standards from the ground up. There he managed the complete e-billing lifecycle — matter and timekeeper rate setup in vendor portals, submission, tracking, rejection analysis, and resubmission — while partnering with attorneys to correct disputed entries and enforcing client billing guidelines across the firm. With more than eight years of experience in e-billing, collections, and financial operations across top-tier law firms and legal services companies, Lucas has built deep expertise in the major e-billing platforms and vendor portals used throughout the legal industry, complemented by advanced Excel, Power Query, and Power BI skills.

Lucas earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Universidade Nove de Julho in São Paulo. He lives in São Paulo with his wife and 3 pets and spends his free time studying and playing video games. Fluent in Portuguese and English, he is also studying Japanese.
