Procurement Attorney
The Position
A leading global food company is seeking an experienced procurement attorney to support direct procurement contracting for its North American snacking division. This role will focus on drafting and negotiating agreements for goods that go directly into consumer products, such as various ingredients, flavors, and food dyes. The ideal candidate will have experience working with top suppliers of commodity goods and a strong background in supplier negotiations.
In addition to core procurement work, the attorney will be expected to bring a process-oriented mindset and contribute to streamlining internal workflows related to contracting. Experience in the CPG industry is preferred but not required. The right candidate will demonstrate sound business judgment, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work independently. They should be comfortable building trust with internal stakeholders and managing high-level negotiations with major suppliers.
This project starts in late August or early September, runs through the end of the year, is fully remote, and requires availability during Eastern Time business hours. Hours can range from 10 to 40 per week. The client is focused on finding the right fit and is flexible to accommodate the attorney’s availability.
The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $110 and $115. This range is an estimate; an employee’s compensation will be based on the employee’s qualifications, skillset, and relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.
